The most recent announcement concerning change in water charges was made in 2010:
For further clarification the total revenue generated from water covers the direct cost which includes non-revenue water such as pools & irrigation etc. Historically the loss on water (2009 = $142,000) was funded from the maintenance fees. In 2010 The Board determined that the water revenue should be sufficient to meet it's direct costs and effective 2011 the rate was adjusted accordingly.
At the present time the water revenue meets the costs at break-even, largely due to the rate change but also due to improved administration, leak detection and removal of unauthorised supplies. It should be noted that the revenue from water does not cover the wastewater treatment costs (estimated at $0.012 per gallon) which continue to be funded from the maintenance revenue.
